How can i fix my Sportcraft TX400 Treadmill?

My treadmill works only for 7 seconds after i turn it on, and after it stops, the calorie counter displays 3, however, the speed sensor works just fine (i checked it with a multimeter), is there any chance there could be something else wrong with my treadmill?

Our's is shocking us while we run. Has anyone else experienced this?

my tx 400 sounds as thought the motor wants to start but 6 sec after the calorie display shows 3

the sensor tests good (meter test). the motor is a new one

i've removed the belt just to see if the motor starts on its own but it does not. i'm suspecting that a component or components on the motor board is faulty.

I'VE also noticed if i increase the starting speed the unit runs o.k

the treadmill turns on just fine but once i hit start it runs for 10 seconds and then stops, all of the lights start to flash and then it restarts and im back to square one. how do i fix this or what do i have to repace.

Mine stops after a few seconds and displays a #4. What does this mean?

Take the cover off over the motor, on the frame next to the pulley wheel is a little plastic sensor with 2 wires hooked to it. Give it a tap if that does not work it may need to be replaced.

I just bought one off of a friend for $200 and i brought it home and it does the same exact thing, i have been trying to look up a motor for it, but i cant seem to find anything yet. because it seems that the motor doesnt was to pull the belt and it stops itself and i even smelled it burning.. Someone Help!!!!

Same problem here! If it's the motor this soon, they're basically disposable treadmills. What a waste of money.

same problem. how do we fix it??

josh, July 2008
I tried checking the motor but it works fine (right current and temperature), the speed sensor also works ok, anyone have any more ideas?

Marcelo Ivan, October 2007
Did you find the problem? My treadmill is giving me the same display after 7 sec.

Rbt, October 2007
it is more than likely going to be the motor from our experience on the aussie models, Chris-Gym Tech Australia
