HOW DO I STOP MY KENMORE WASHER FROM "BANGING" ?

THE WASHER HAS BEEN LEVELED. THIS IS BEYOND A CLOTHING ADJUSTMENT . THE INNER TUB IS BANGING AGAINST THE SIDE PANELS OF THE WASHING MACHINE. IT THEN JUMPS ACROSS THE FLOOR. IT FILLS AND DISCHRGES PROPERLY, BUT WHY IS THE TUB "BANGING". IS THIS A REPAIR THAT I CAN DO MYSELF, WITH THE RIGHT PARTS?

I'm not sure of the type of machine you have with no model number posted but if you have a direct drive washer, they have three balancing springs inside the cabinet. Perhaps one of them broke or fell off causing the banging of the tub. Take the cabinet off and check it out.
