peugeot 106 radio code, can't enter?

I can't enter the code for my Clarion radio. Have just bought car, radio shows 4 digits very similar to code,i assume someone put the wrong code in and its now locked. Have left radio on for much more than an hour but still no change. HELP.

to re-enter you must on the 106 hold the middle of the 3 buttons (far right above the display)until the visor reades code, or unplug the cssette player for 15 seconds andturn car electrics on, then plug radio and turn radio on, this SHOULD say C O D E

I have the same problem with my Clarion in a Peugeot 306. The display shows (----) and when I hold the bnd button for a few seconds it shows (====). I have tried leaving it on for an hour+ but it will not give me the 'CODE IN' sign.

Any advice?
