Fix Fault Durabrand

I have a Hitachi Remote control. It does not work with my Durabrand Model DU1901 television. Why won't it work? What can I do in hopes that these to will work together?

My girlfriend's mother has a durabrand tv, when they were trying to do something to adjust the speakers it went into lock mode. How can we un lock it?
