microsoft outlook launches instead of my hotmail, why?

How do I open an email link that's a part of an email message sent through Outlook Express? The response I get when I click on the link is a blank Microsoft Internet page.

When I spell check an e-mail in Microsoft Outlook 2000 I get an error "Error occurred while checking spelling." How can I fix this so that Outlook will spell check?
