Having taped programmes for the kids on skyplus I've tried to copy them onto DVD for them to watch in their room. The dvd plays back on the DVD recorder I used to tape them but will not work on any other dvd players. They all state the same message 'please insert playable disc'. I've already tried various different discs but same problem. Any tips?

make sure you have finalised the disc before you try to play it on another machine!
