How can I silence my Veritas home alarm after a power cut?

Had a power cut at my house last night (3am) - outside alarm flashing with audio warning, the keypad had no power so I was unable to turn off the alarm- sound continued for 15 minutes before stopping. Power resumed at 3.30 when I reset the alarm before it went off again. A second power outage occurred at 4am- again I was unable to turn off the audio alarm- very anti social for my neighbours. Anyone know how to silence the alarm and save my embarrassment?

Hello, we have had the same problem. I believe that it is because the backup battery needs replacing. Ours is in the loft so haven't had a chance to do it yet. It is very embarrassing when people know you are at home but you haven't stopped the alarm isn't it!

Hi Phil,

I have the same problem and I have been told that it's probably due to my backup battery being flat. I was also told by the alarm folk that if you cut the power and remove the backup battery, it should silence the alarm. I'm going to try this tonight.

Good Luck!
