Chrome control knobs are tarnished; how can I bring back the chrome or re-c?

I think my wife has cleaned the chrome control knobs on our cooker with something that has tarnished them; I think a stainless steel cleaner. Is there anything I can do to restore them back to shiny chrome?
Thank you

Depending where you are, you may be able to get a metal finisher to re-chrome them for you (most of these seem to be based in the West Midlands)
Chrome should only ever be cleaner with non-abrasive cleaners

I wouldn't go blaming your wife's cleaning technique, but the poor quality of Tecnik products. I have the same model, and the knobs are in the same condition as yours, despite only occasional gentle cleaning with mild soap and water.

The thinnest layer of chrome-look-alike coating has been used, and it doesn't last five minutes under light to normal wear.

If you want them to stay looking good, don't buy more of the same rubbish from Tecnik, but try chroming them yourself.
