I have a central locking fault on my wifes 2000 ford ka,I,m told this is a?

I have a fault on my wifes 2000 ford ka.the central locking sounds as if it locks but keeps cycling & fails to lock.I,m told its a common fault ,but have not yet received a cure?Anyone got a wiring diagram or advise ?many thanks

sounds like drivers door lock motor unit, wears internally giving door open signal so it wont lock
