Ok I have a 2001 Ford taurus with the 3.0 vulcan engine, I ahve had the car for over a year and just notcied a cherping noise when idleing. I have already replaced the belt and there is nothing leaking on it. Any help would be helpful

Yea the cherp comes and goes and the alternator and power steering were both checked and the noise is not comeing from there. The sound is comeing from the back valve cover.

check the fluids in the power steering pump it could also be your alternator going out. is it a steady chirp or or does it come and go
