washer will not spin in wash mode?

my washer is a Bendix auto 800,
the washer works fine but, it will not turn round when it is washing, plus there are two spin speeds 400 then 800, it stops when it go's onto the 800 spin

If it's a brush motor, check the brushes.

It sounds like an induction motor, so I'd check the capacitor.
