Cannot open door on washing machine?

Zanussi FLS1383W washing machine.
At end of programme door light goes out but door does not open.Tried another short prog.-no different.

you are waiting 3 mins for release to operate?.if you turn off at mains does door release after 3 mins?,if so suspect contact on timer faulty putting voltage onto door interlock
