How do i repair cat scratch marks in woodchip wallpaper without repapering?

I have gotten two kittens and they've made short work of my wallpaper - shredding bits of it. Most i can smooth the paper back down and dab a bit of paint over it. But there's one patch which is well and truly shredded - i don't want to repaper but it has to be repaired (rented house). They've grown out of it now so i can now repair without them doing it again. Any advice would be a greatly appreciated.

you could get some plasticine and press it onto a good bit of woodchip to copy the pattern then paint some filler on the scratch marks and press the plasticine on the filler to make a match.add some pva glue to the filler to make it stick better if you wish.have a cup of water and a brush ready when you do the job so you can brush out any imperfections as you go.IF you put the plasticine in the freezer after making your pattern it will keep the shape.do some test pieces on a sheet of paper until you get the thickness of filler just right. If the filler leaves sharp peaks just break them off when its dry.Take your time to make a good job of it.
