Bosch 1600 exxcel washer?

My machine has stopped taking in the softener.(Lenor, etc.) Ihave cleaned the compartment and the holes at the top but still no joy.

I have found the answer, get an old toothbrush, put some domestos on it and rub the holes where the water comes in at the top of the compartment serving the softener section.
