how do I get the key code for Mondeo?

How can i get the key code for my mondeo turbo diesel?
I have the vin number. car is 2000 LX TD mk2.

Hi David, the main stealership will from the VIN should be able to tell you the original key T number but it is possible that the locks have been replaced in the last 8 years and even if they are the original locks any new key will still have to be re-programmed for the PATS to work
