Hi Lindsay, you will need to get the car connected to a fault code reader soon, the "engine management" light means the engine computer has a fault registered in its memory and as it has put the light on it need investigation asap, it will almost certainly be connected with the missfire you mention, you do not have to take it to Fords any good garage and some tyre & exhaust places have the code reader and only charge a quarter of the Ford price around £25 ~ 30 +vat
