How do I replace the syphon in a toilet?

I need to replace the syphon system in a close coupled wc. Is there a simple way of disconnecting the old syphon, removing it and replacing it with a new one or does the whole wc need to be dismantled, etc?

Flush the toilet and then tie up the ball cock so no more water enters the cistern. Take out all the water from the cistern - use a cloth to mop it up. undo the plastic nut from the underside of the cistern and you will be able to remove the syphon, once you have disconnected the flush handle bar. replace in the reverse order
