how can i fix my jvc compact vhs camcorder GR-SXM750U?

when i try to record anything on my camcorder it says that the lens cap is still on even though i have already removed it. i tried removing the battery and putting it back on but it doesnt seem to do anything. can someone help me find the problem.

most jvc camcorders show up on the view finder " lense cap cover" and usually goes off after a few seconds , leave it for a few minutes and check then !!
