My toilet is a push button flush and it is stuck in the pushed in mode. I cannot get the top off the cistern as it's stuck/attached to the push button. How do I get the lid off to see what the problem is?
if it has two buttons try lifting buttons out of chrome ring holder this might show you a screw attatchment to release the chrome ring and letting you remove lid

On a cistern like this, you generally have to unscrew the push button first, which releases the flush mechanism.
