where is the crankshaft locking pin on the ford 1800 diesel ?

hi i have been asked to re new a friends drive belt on his escort 1800 diesel after it broke i have fitted a new head but cant locate the timing pin i have left it on tdc do i time on that , i have secured the camshaft so that is correct

hole in alternator bracket allows access to blanking plug,10 mm socket to remove, then insert crank timing pin turn crank clockwise till it butts against crank web[it is not a locking pin] make sure you are just before tdc when you put pin in-you can get pin against wrong web!
