ford galaxy central locking fault?

Just bought a used galaxy and the cemtral locking does not work,the control light on the drivers door does not work either are these related and is this likely to be expxnsive to fix?
anyone got any suggestions as to what it may be?

try disconnecting the fuse or battery for few minutes to reset the c/l control..make sure you have the code no for your radio
