Pump problem with Zanussi Aquacycle 1000?

It fills water fine, but won't pump it out.
Since it has to pump water out several times during a wash cycle, it can't finish.
I checked the pump by opening the filter, and it turns alright, but very little water comes out of the hose (filter closed of cause ;)
I tried to blow into the exit hose while the filter was off, and it doesn't seem to be obstructed by anything.
Filter off I can see the "wings" of the pump, and they don't seem to be damaged.
Any suggestions - before I take the whole thing apart?

The drain was squeezed. Countless washes had moved the machine an inch back, luckily I saw it just before I took the whole thing apart following this instruction:

"On these machines the cabinet is split down the middle and you need to take the back half off for access. Take the lid off and you will see 2 screws on the top edge each side. There are also screws near the bottom rear corners and screws concealed with plastic plugs at the bottom of both sides. Remove all these screws and unclip the water inlet extension assembly before pulling the back off. If there is something stuck in the drum you can often extract it through the hole for the heater element."
