There are 12 halogen lights in the ceiling of my downstairs bathroom and hall way. 2 days ago they suddenly didnt work. I did all the usual things - checked the fuse box: turned electricity off and on and today have tested all the light bulbs. The lights still dont work. What do I do next?

Look for the transformer that drives them. (Between the 240 V ac mains and the 12v sockets.) You need a new one.

You did not state if your bulbs were good. The next thing to check would be the transformer. That is presuming that they are low voltage. If not then check power at the fixture, switch and circuit breaker. It has go to be there somewhere.
