screen and viewfinder no image!!? - Canon MV700i?

the viewfinder/screen will not display images whether in standby or recording mode but will record audio and is fine in playback mode, anybody know the remedy for this??

contact canon, they will repair it for free as this is a ccd issue that affects not only canon digital camcorders but many other brands as well. dont take it to a shop otherwise they are likely to charge you for the fix.

Had the same problem so I contacted a internet repair shop they told me to contact PLIM CARE Marshal Rd Plympton PL7 1YB Tel 01752 303555 so I did and they said just send the camcorder to them and they would repair it free of charge, you just pay the post one way.
So I will let you know.

got one of these through work as part of a package. great little camcorder. used occasionally for 18 months then gave same problem. after looking on the net, it turns out that a ccd that canon use in some cameras and camcorders are faulty. canon will arrange a free repair, assuming you have all receipts etc. i also think you pay the postage. below is a link to a camera site where you can find out more and a direct link to canon. hope this helps........
