Why does the washer wash but wont drain out the water and spin?

i have a whirlpool washer heavy duty cant make out the serial number but it filled with water but when its time to drain out the water and spin it wont.

check the pump for foreign objects such as pennies. If it doesn't see the water level drop it won't spin

if your the brushes have gone in the motor it wont spin so may need to check your pump or the brushes hope it helps
