when i try to sew the under stitching nest or nots up and then wont sew. i've tried lots of thing but can't get it to sew. brother vx 950

You need to go back to basics and check, make sure you have threaded the machine with the presser foot up, top tension between 4 and 6, you should be able to pull the bobbin thread through with some slight resistence, if it is difficult to pull through slacken the screw on the bobbin case anti clockwise.
