I have a sony playstation3 and am playing madden 09 online. Many times I have "lost connection with opponent" and am forced to end game and take a loss on my record. I have a broadband connection and hook my playstation3 directly to the internet with the cable that came with my machine. Are there different qualities of connection at the broadband level? Do I need a better cord? Do I need to shop for a better provider?I never have trouble with my connection while on my computer.

The game is probably dropping out due to high latency in your connection.

Assuming you are using an Ethernet connection, over that short distance, one cable is good as another.
