How do I change the front brakes on my 1998 Dodge Stratus?

How do I change the front brakes on my 1998 Dodge Stratus? I am new to the automotive world and i have no manual or anything for my car. When driving i hear a high pitched shealing sound from the front left wheel well. Upon taking off the tire i found there is no pad and there is metal scraping the disc as it rotates. Please help!

After you take off the wheel, you need to find the two bolts on the backside of the caliper(the thing that holds the brake pads). Remove those and then lift up on the caliper. You may need to pry them apart to get them off. After that, remove the old brake pads. You will need a C-clamp to compress the plunger in the center of the caliper before you put it back on. After you have compressed the plunger, put the new pads on the caliper and place them back in their original position. Replace the two bolts you removed from the backside of the caliper and VOILA. You are done. If you have any further questions, email me at crosseyedzerk@aol.com
