How can I fix my Karcher 620M?

I have a Karcher 620M jetwash. The thread on the Aluminium male pressure outlet is damaged and the brass coupling for the pressure hose keeps blowing off. I would be happy to make a permanent fixing.

Any suggestions on how to make a repair?

I had a similar problem with mine. The last answer is an "elegant" solution, but mine is a little more agricultural

I bought a brass female to male adaptor of the correct size (I think it's 3/4"). I drilled three small holes at 120deg through the female end and tapped them to take a screw. Using a drill, I made 3 "dimples" in the aluminium outlet of the washer that lined up with the 3 holes I drilled in the coupling. Used Araldite (or similar) in the female end of the coupling and screwed it onto the pressure washer and then tightened the tree screws to locked it into place. Did this over a year ago and it's been ok since

Hi John,

If you take it down to a local car garage they should be able to cut a new thread on the male end of the connection (which will obviously make it slightly smaller!)

Then they will insert a metal coil into the female end of the connection thus making it smaller in order for it to fit the new thread!.

The tool is called a 'tap' and 'dye' set and most garages will have them.

Hope this helps.
