I keep getting a flashing f followed by a flashing dl. How do I reset the machine or make the door lock work again. I had a Sears repair guy out here yesterday, he pressed a couple of buttons and it worked again and he charged me $90 for doing almost nothing. Help me.

I have a Kenmore Smartwash Quietpak9 HE 4 washer that flashes F and H when I do smaller loads. The load will stop washing and continue to flash codes. I must push pause then start to re-start wash cycle. I must do this over and over until cycle is over.This problem does not occur everytime.
What is the problem??
