How to reset a Pioneer DEH-1950 CD receiver?

The battery of my car was disconnected and now my Pioneer DEH-1950 CD player won't work? Can anyone tell me how to reset it?

press volume knob - called source button in manual - to turn off press same button and hold until unit turns off. if this fails check fuse at rear of unit.
