hi there i have a breville illuminated kettle model jk15 3.1kw i forgot to put water in it one day and i switched it on then i stopped it after 40 seconds and put water in it but it did not boil the water but the illumination worls all the lights are properly working just not boiling the water i tried replacing the fuse but still theres the same problem what can i do? and if i need to buy a part for it where can i get it and how much would it be? thank you

The element may have died and require to be checked using an ohm meter but I noticed my one which is the same looked a bit tatty but works o.k. Was browsing on Comet website and they are supplying the newer version of this model for as little as £19.99 so to be honest bin it.
