Please can you confirm the voltage output of the mains adaptor for the machine and also is it ac or dc?

Thanks Kathy. Tried the site you suggested and there is nothing in there for kn900. Anyway out sheer frustration I managed to disassemble the machine, and got the needle.

Yes there are I have one for my 940. I think I got it from Bedfords or hongkong knitting. It was only in the last 9 months. Type what you want into Google Iam sure you'll find it
