How can i unblock my toilet hav heard bout bin liners and a mop can u advise please?

I unblocked my toilet yesterday, using the loo brush (the round sort) inside two plastic carrier bags. Tape the bags securly round the handle of the brush and then inside a black bin liner.

10/12 plunges and it unblocked.
