Curtain gliders sticking to rail?

I have recently bought a new curtain rail, but the gliders to the the rail, stopping me from drawing the curtains properly. I read somewhere that there is something you can put on the rail to stop this hapening, but I cant remember what it is. Does anyone have any ideas?
Your help would be very much appreciated

You could also use a dash of margarine on the end of a cotton bud to get into the glider groove

Hi Bev

It's easy to solve this problem! Buy a spray can of furniture polish - Sainsbury's have their economy brand at 30p - spray on a duster and wipe rail going into grooves. I also wiped hooks as well.

Result - glides at the touch of a finger.

I would like to claim the credit for thinking of this - but got the solution from an internet search!
