I Have a Riello Type 424t55 Burner, running on 28 second Kerosene?

The above burner locks out about every second start up.
I have noticed that the flap operated by the hydraulic ram now stays open even if the boiler has been dormant for a period of time.
If the Boiler is going to lock out on startup, it will start and fade about 3 times and then give up.

Does this mean anything to anyone? will replacing the ram help? are online spares available?

Sounds like Oil pressure, the Hydrolic ram is operated from the high pressure side of the pump, if the ram is staying open, then i would look at replcing the pump and ram ( ram is about £17.00 + VAT.
Also consider blocked Nozzel filter etc.
if the flame snuffs out once lit, it is normaly an oil issue, if the boiler locks out when there is a good strong flame, then consider photo cell ( well not in this case, its all part of the control box) .
