How can I repair ladies worn flat shoe heel with new rubber heels?

I recently managed to get hold of some rubber heels suitable for mens shoes but would like to use them to to repair several pairs of my favourite flat shoes(ladies) but not sure how to go about it. I have the glue and a sharp knife to pare down. Can any one direct me please
