i have just bought a murray 10/30 off ebay.everything seem in order however when i get to a bit of an incline it struggles to get up.the engine seem willing enough. can any one tell what the drive train is. belt or chain drive or some sort of clutch system. i havent had a good look yet but thought a bit of prior knowledge would help.?

Check the condition of the drive belt that goes from the engine crankshaft pulley to the gearbox - chances are its very slack and slipping.
