How can I level existing 36 inch door (half inch out of level)?

If I could raise end of door by even a quarter inch it would be OK. The house has settled in 30 yrs, and I am trying to avoid purchasing a new door or re-aligning frame. I tried shimming bottom hinge-but it only gave me 1/16 inch.Exterior attached to house shed wood door.

Williamh Good idea!! But I, with respect, suggest before correcting the questioner try checking your spelling and punctuation marks. In this case you are both correct as it's out of level on the horizontal and out of plumb on the vertical. And for cuts like that one has more control over a hand saw than a power saw.

You can take a long 3" screw of the same size as used in your hinges, put 2 in the top hinge, in to the door frame. if you need more, make a gage of the thickness that you want the margin to be, with a pensil mark a line around the doors edge where you want it to clear, all around if need be. take the door off its hinges and cut, you'll need a fine tooth blade, dont even think about using a hand saw =)

Oh and its out of plumb, not out of level.
