I have a motorola brand.My ON abd Off buttons push down but don't do anythi?

My motorola cordless ON/OFF buttons push down but they don't do anything. also my other buttons are getting next to impossible (the number buttons) to push.

I have the same problem with two of my Motorolas. Took them apart and found moisture in the rubber grommet that the buttons are made from. Dried it with a paper towel, wiped it and the circuit board down with a bit of alcohol, and the buttons now work decently.
