Can a foot and pedal from any singer can be use on a singer Serger??

I have a Singer Touch Tronic Model 2000 and a Singer Model 14SH654, can I use the same pedal and cord in both machiones, as the one for the serger was lost on a recent move, both have the same 3 holes plug and a 3 prong outlet.
