I recently acquired a pair of Valley Lane taupe leather boots. They are knee-high and fully lined and fit well in the foot, but the ankle and calf are both far too wide and stand out an inch or so from my leg on all sides. Not only does this look awkward, but it chafes. How can I take these boots in without ruining them for everyday wear?

I quess first I should ask ? Are you wearing socks when you wear the boots? If so the recommendation I recieved fro Valeey Boots was to take a BallPen hammer and strike your feet repeatedly at the point of where they are to wide for you, then try them on again if still too wide repeat the hammering until the fit is right if they seem to narrow then soak your feet in ice cold water and try again
