i have a whirlpool frig with a ice maker and have been running the ice maker for about 2 months and the ice cubes taste funny and smell the unit is brand new and the water is city water and the water from the faucet does not smell funny or taste funny what can be the problem?

You could try washeing out the ice bin and removing any old food if there is any in the fridge.
