how can i fix a fiesta bonnet lock? ?

My beloved J reg ford fiestas bonnet lock is broken (the secondary lock still works) can i fix it or do i have to replace it? if so how much do you think they cost?

has the lock broken or has the cable kinked and is holding the lock open
soak with WD40 or type of thing and pull release watch to see if catch is moving
if cable good and catch wont free local scrap yard couple of quid for good used one
