I changed the batteries on my motion sensor?

I changed my batteries on my wireless motion detectorbut, the
keypad still says check 12 which is refers to the motion detector.can i just disconnect the sensor permanently?how do i do it?

It sounds like you didn't close the cover correctly and it still detects that there is something going on with the motion detector. Double check the way you put the battery in - make sure it is inserted correctly (+'s & -'s match), then put the cover back on the motion detector - you should hear a click when it is snapped back together. The only other thing that you could possible need to do, is if you still have the book, find in there where you can have your alarm sensor check for the sensors and try that. once you have done this, it should be corrected. Make sure you replace the batteries as soon as the alarm system alerts you - if you wait too long on some alarms, you will have to reprogram the motion sensor to the alarm. Hope this helps!
