Indesit WIL1235 not spinning?

A duvet cover was caught in seal when I shut w/maching door and the machine obviously couldn't spin properly - now I've removed it, the drum isn't spinning at all. Any ideas whether I can fix this myself as really can't afford to get an expert out.

Check the belt has not come off the pulley or has broken. Take off lid and look down back of drum.
