heating switch?

I have a potterton boiler and in the airing cupboard is a white switch which has two orange lights for hot water and heating when the system is off the switch should turn off and cool down but it is still staying hot and buzzing what is it

i think it's your mid position valve actuator that you are talking about. it's what lets you select between heating & hot water. best to get the actuator replaced if it's buzzing.
