Craftsman 5.5 hp push mover makes Loud NOISE!?

It sounds like the blade is hitting metal, but I Can't find any marks and the blade moves around freely with the engine off.There dos'nt seem to be any more vibrations then normal.The noise is really loud like something serious is wrong. Please Help.

With the spark plug wire removed, try turning the blade back and forth and see it there's any slop in it. I'm betting you'll find the blade adapter is broken. It's the aluminium or steel piece on the end of the crankshaft that the blade is attached to.
