I have the LG washer WM0642HW with the IE error code also. I have tried all the quick fixes and now feel I must replace the sensor everyone talks about. I purchased mine in Nov 2008. Can you tell me the part number for this model? and where to order it? I do not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a machine that will break down repeatedly in the future.
