How can I fix my McCulloch Hedge Trimmers MH542 & MH555?

I have 2 McCulloch Hedge Trimmers ( 1 x MH542 and 1 x MH555) both were working fine but suddenly stopped working in mid flow and now there isn't any spark from the plugs. I cannot believe that both coils can pack up so what can be the problem?

have you tried the cut off (on off) switch leads this would stop the spark. they could be corroded or loose or earthed out
